This book was published to accompany the exhibition "Cargonauts - Migrant Workers at Sea" in the German Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven in October 2008. Today, captains are more like the managers of floating companies. Whether real or not the cliché of an adventurous life at sea has long been cast overboard in this modern world of container and computer-controlled terminals.
